Hi All-

I was looking for software to update my 9800-CL from 17.3.3 to 17.3.4c.  I believe that I found the appropriate file: C9800-CL-universalk9.17.03.04c.SPA.bin.  I also notice there were files with the .run extension.  What are these?

Thanks

I am referring to these:

.run_screenshot.png

Those might be for google cloud:

https://cloud.google.com/run

as it mentioned file itself for cloud run.

if your just planning an upgrade of the WLC you just need the .bin file you listed.

Then follow this guide

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/9800/17-2/config-guide/b_wl_17_2_cg/b_wl_17_2_cg_chapter_010010111.html

The .bin file is what you need for an upgrade.

The .run files are detailed under section Creating the Controller Using the Self-installing .Run Package for ESXI of this document

https://content.cisco.com/chapter.sjs?uri=/searchable/chapter/content/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/9800/9800-cloud/installation/b-c9800-cl-install-guide/installing_the_controller.html.xml#id_101969

From what I gather they are only used by companies with very large VM environments needing to deploy via CLI to the VM environment
