I missed this bit in the past  post - virtual AP not possible, But you can buy old one to test for learning process.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to run a virtual AP, this is due to the physical requirement of having physical radio components.

If you are unable to get AP's from your work, try the online second-hand market. You will be able to find older model AP's that are no longer viable for support which enterprise businesses tend to get rid of and sell off for a small price on the grey market, yet they will still be suitable for your study track.

Over the years the R&S tracks are now much more feasible to run in a virtual environment, unfortunately, with wireless your lab's virtual environment won't be able to cover the AP element.

Using 2nd hand kit wont work either if you haven't got licenses for the AP as well as the vWLC (which normally gives you 200 on eval)

yes you can simulate AP with pfsense acting like wifi AP, you must have physical USB WIFI network card attached to you PC and in your EVE-NG or PnetLab juste add this cards in network in vmware VM => settings => Harware => Click Add => Netwrok Adapter

choice your USB Card Network, but first you must declare your cards acting like Bridged if you want more details write me
