WLC 5508 Failure to upgrade code

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade a WLC 5508 and I'm getting the following errors:

TFTP Code transfer starting.

TFTP receive complete... extracting components.

Failure while validating the signature!

TFTP Failure while storing in flash!

The image is good and for the right model.  Does anyone have any ideas?

If you console in and see errors, then your better off to RMA that WLC. If you RMA the device, Cisco will regenerate the license and you will have to add the license to the new WLC.

I faced exactly the same issue with 2 brandnew boxes and after many hours of investigating and trying to get that fixed I finally RMAed them. Some days ago I received the new boxes and everything is o.k. now so I suggest to change the WLCs in this cases.

Hi Guys,

I know its been awhile on this one but i just got another one of these 5508 units that cannot be upgraded and was wondering the following:

1. Has anyone seen a field notice created (internal or external)?  This seems like the perfect case for it.

2. Has anyone seen a bug ID created for this issue?

Might be a long shot but at least if there was a field notice or bug ID i could keep an eye out for a fix or workaround.
