Hi Experts, We have got a WLC 4402 as an anchor that provides guest internet access to our visitors. Our wan sites have 4402's running a tunnel to this anchor for guest traffic. We have got a new site coming up that will have a 5508 as its WLC. I am trying to determine if the 5508 will successfully form a tunnel with the existing 4402 anchor. I am assuming that it will be ok or maybe the 4402 will require an ios upgrade. Our AP's everywhere are 1131's but the new site will have the later versions which can work with the CAPWAP based 5508. My questions spesifically are:
Our 4402's are on 4.2.61.0 and I am proposing to management that we should upgrade these to 7.0.116.0 to prepare the infrastructure for any potential issues.
Looking forward to your suggestions.

Hi,
To overcome this problem we have something caled as IRCM.. this will let us know wheteher there is a compatility between the old and the new code.. here is the IRCM for 7.0.XXX code. from der i can see that there is no problem to use it as per your requirements!

Thanks Surendra. I had the docs with me and they indeed are helpful though I was wondering if anyone had any issues during the deployment. I am assuming based on your reply that you have not encoutered any scenarios where 4402 to 5508 has caused problems and which is also indicated by the IRCM.
I will rate you but it is not allowing me as I am obviously doing something wrong since I have posted here after a long time. Will keep on trying though

Hi Surendra, apologies. It looks like your post has already got a rating and try as I may it does not allow me to put in my rating nor change anything. When I posted last (a year ago I think) there was a drop down menu which I feel was more flexible.
