Hi Everyone,
This is my first post in this CISCO community, so again HELLO.
Regarding the SNMP traps in ASR 9010 (I use IOS-XR:4.1.2), which trap is used to get notifications when the transceiver power is low or below the threshold, also is there a document which explains what each trap does(in detail)? I have already read the
"Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Router System Management Command Reference, Release 4.1" which was good but not so informative on the topic of SNMP.
Best Regards
Saikat

Hello Saikat,
The list of supported notifications can be found here "MIB Notification Names in the Cisco ASR 9000 Series Routers"
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/asr9000/mib/guide/asr9kmib3.html#wp1602338
The power should be under CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB
Configure "snmp-server traps sensor", then entSensorThresholdNotification trap should be raised when sensor threshold is crossed.

Hi,
Is there a way of changing the default threshold value "entSensorThreshold Table"? If so whats the procedure.
Im using XFP-10GER-192IR+ for inter-site connection.
For eg.
The output of "show controllers te
Thresholds: Alarm High Warning High Warning Low Alarm Low
Temperature: 83.000 80.000 -10.000 -13.000
Voltage: 0.000 Volt 0.000 Volt 0.000 Volt 0.000 Volt
Bias: 130.000 mAmps 120.000 mAmps 20.000 mAmps 10.000 mAmps
Transmit Power: 5.012 mW (7.00 dBm) 2.512 mW (4.00 dBm) 0.339 mW (-4.70 dBm) 0.170 mW (-7.70
Receive Power: 1.585 mW (2.00 dBm) 0.794 mW (-1.00 dBm) 0.026 mW (-15.80 dBm) 0.013 mW (-18.
Will these values be referred by the entity-sensor MIB or the default ones "entSensorThreshold Table"
which are mentioned inside the MIB specification guide will be used?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Saikat

Hi Saikat,
no, threshold values can not be changed.
Yes, these threshold should be used and I’d expect both all of them to generate a trap.
