Good morning. I have an interesting situation. We currently have an ASR 9001 on ver 6.5.3. It connects to our Cisco 6500 over a 10G link. We currently have a 10g connection out to the internet coming into the ASR, and we are looking into increasing that connection to 20G. Can we combine two 10G ports connecting out to the world so that its one 20G link?

yes you can configure a bundle (port-channel or lag in other platforms)
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k-r7-3/lxvpn/configuration/guide/b-l2vpn-cg-asr9000-73x/configuring-link-bundles.html
two 10G links in a bundle, you can gain 20G on this bundle interface provided the flows are hashed the right way
