I am fully aware that there are 2 versions of the 9001. 9001-S and 9001.
Both 9001 and 9001-S have 4 built in SFP+ ports and BAY 0 and BAY 1.
9001-S by default has BAY 0 active and SFP+ ports 0 & 1 active and requires a license to activate BAY 1 and SFP+ ports 2 & 3.
9001 by default should have BAY 0 & 1, SFP+ ports 0, 1, 2, 3 active .
Our 9001 is behaving like a 9001-S. SFP+ ports 2 & 3 will not come online and show inventory sees the 10G SFP+ in slots 2 and 3 and even a no shut command will keep the ports down. Same for BAY 1. MPA-4x10GE with "no shut" issued on 0/0/1/0 - 0/0/1/3 all say Shutdown on show ip int brief yet the port lights turn on red.
I moved the MPA-4X10GE to BAY 0 and all the ports come up online.
show inventory in admin mode shows the unit is indeed a ASR-9001
NAME: "chassis ASR-9001", DESCR: "ASR-9001 Chassis"
PID: ASR-9001, VID: V06 , SN:
Any idea what could be wrong with our unit?
