Hello

Could you let know if it is normal FAN Speed 0/FT0/* on a Cisco ASR9010 running 5.3.4.

I have two device in cluster, this device are in differente side, but I need to know of 0/FT0/* (Speed) in 9390 is normal until that change fan (because FAN 2 is 0RPM)

Can I have documentation that verificate this range?

I have searched this information but I dont have success

Re: What is the normal Fan Speed for ASR 9010

ASR 9010 airflow is front-to-back.

Regarding fan operation on the ASR 9010:

The chassis contains two fan trays for redundancy (Figure 2-33 ). The fan trays are located one above the other below the card cage and are equipped with handles for easy removal. The chassis has a front-to-rear cooling path (Figure 2-27 ). The inlet is at the bottom front of the chassis, and the exhaust is at the upper rear.

Each fan tray has 12 fans arranged in three groups of four fans each. Two fans of each group share a fan controller. The power supplied to the fan controller is 1:3 protected. A single fan failure has no impact on air flow because the other 11 fans will compensate for it. If the fan controller fails, there is a possibility of up to two fans failing; however, the design always has two fans operating in a row (three rows of fans) to compensate for the air speed.

It doesn't address the normal fan speeds, but it does provide some detail on their operation.

You may want to consider your air flow direction. Intake on the 9006s are from the right side of the chassis. We had a problem with high RPM fan speeds on one of our cores due to blocking of air input from the right side. You must remove the router from the rack and turn it 90 degrees after installing the baffle. This did eliminate the high RPM instances.

Hi Malyons
Thank you for suggestions. At the moment we are programming the Maintenance Window and will take account your indications.
I hope the RPM in FAN decreases
