I have several 9200 and 9300 switches using dhcp for the management vlan. we are using MS DHCP. when I reboot the switch, I get a different management ip and that confuses DNA.
The lease time on our DHCP server is 8 days.
It has been suggested that the switch sends a dhcp release when rebooting. Is that the case?
thanks

2 options you can mitigate the issue.
1. Make Static reservation for Underlay IP Address
2. If you using DNS name to resolve the device ? DNA will use naming convention
But my take is DHCP Reservation.

Boss does not want to use static IP. We use DNS naming for switch management.

@balaji.bandi is probably right that DHCP reservation is probably the right solution. If you are using Microsoft DHCP, try these instructions: https://www.mustbegeek.com/configure-dhcp-reservation-in-windows-server-2012-r2/
