Hi,

Can I install an anti-virus on the our UCCE components ( Data Server, Call Server, CVP server) which are running on Windows 2008 R2 server. Will it not violate any license/contract with Cisco. Will it also affect the operation of the system?

Thank you

yes, you can install  below AV's based on your UCCE versions,

  • McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.8i
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0/12.1
  • Trend MicroServerProtect Version 5.7/5.8

but you have to exclude few of the registries and files,  more details are available in UCCE SRND,  Please refer below reference from SRND and cisco doc.

  • Compatibility Matrix for Unified CCE at http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Compatibility_Matrix_for_Unified_

CCE DocWiki and the Hardware and System Software Specification for Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal
(Unified CVP),

  • See the Security Best Practices Guide for Cisco Unified ICM/Contact Center Enterprise & Hosted at http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/customer-collaboration/unified-contact-center-enterprise/products-installation-and-configuration-guides-list.html

Not only can you be you should run Anti-virus on all Windows servers. Some servers might have some folder exceptions you need to set, but those should be documented in UCCE install guides.

Hi Shalid,

Thank you very for the information. Appreciate it,, Just another question, My WebEx Vcenter and Attendant console is also  running also on Windows Server. Can I also install McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.8 on those two server.

Thank you

Hi,

you install on the vCenter whatever supported by VMWare.

For the Attendant Console, is the Cisco Agent Desktop (CAD) what you mean?

G.

Attendant Console also has a nice install document that states what is supported with anti virus and what exceptions are needed. Would you like us to copy and paste that section here or can you locale it?
