Hi All,
If I were to place an internal call from our main site to one of our branches across our managed WAN, would to total bandwidth consumed be 80kb or 160kb assuming each of the phones in question were using G711 as their Codec?
Thank you.
Regards
Jamie

Hi,
You really need to look at this
The 160 is bytes in the payload
The call consumes about 80 -90 Kbps depending on the media eg frame-relay ATM , Ethernet.
Here is the stats from a call G711 I have in my 3750 Lan switch right now
Queueing strategy: fifo
Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)
5 minute input rate 89000 bits/sec, 50 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 91000 bits/sec, 52 packets/sec
4686999 packets input, 762427991 bytes, 0 no buffer
I hope this is clear

Hi Jamie,
It would be 160kb Have a look at this good tech note;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk698/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094ae2.shtml
and you can also leverage this Cisco TAC tool;

Cheers!
