Call Manager 8.5 image upload issue

Dear All,

I am trying to upload call manager version 8.5 image through sFTP server. sFTP is configured properly.

But i dont know due what reason whenever i am trying to upload the image it is giving this error

No valid upgrade options were found


Please find attached screenshoot as well.

Kindly gudie me what could be the possible reasons for this error.

Kindly let me know when the license file for 8.5 to be uploaded to the call manager.

before i switch verions from 6.1.5 to 8.5 or after the switch version.

Hi Malik,

You can generate the license file now before migrating to 8.5.

You can either write to Cisco Licensing team or go to www.cisco.com/go/license with PAK and MAC address of Pub.

while uploading the image the page is stuck up on this stage

kindly have a look at the screenshoot its now more than 3 hours its on the same page.

Please let me know is it normal and how we should proceed.

Were u able to upgrade all the servers successfully?

Secondly,as far as I know when u upgrade the call manager , u get the compatible firmware.

Are u facing any challenge while regsitering IP phone.

Hi Aman,

Actully i am just upgrading the last node.

And then i will start the switch version from publisher i.e. 6.1.5 to 8.5 and then move to the other nodes.

So as you said once the upgrade is done successfullly firmware will not be an issue.

Is there any thing to be looked or done before i proceed to the switch version step.

Hi Aman,

Yes we have successfully switch over the call manager version from 8.5

But the phones went to registering status please find attached screen shoot for your consideration.

Please gudie me how to prceed because none of the phones are registered.

I have a question for example i have purchased license for version 9.0

will the licensing team will provide me the license for version 8.5

Hi Malik,

The error that is being displayed indicates the need for the

CUCM 8.x license and in particular the "8.x software feature license"

Without that license the Callmanager service will NOT start and thus

the phones will not register.
