We have a CM 7.1(3) server within our organization. We also use Whats Up gold to monitor all servers and critical networking gear. The question came up as to whether call manager could be used to dial out to our network technicians upon a triggered alert? So for example, if a router goes down, our NMS triggeres an alarm and CM dials a group of numbers with some kind of alert?
Any ideas? thanks

Hi Luke,
You could use a syslog server and setup alerts on Call Manager to be sent to the syslog server.

Thanks Justin,
Want Im really looking for is to have CM generate a phone call to our techs when a device hits a certian state. Im wondering if there is anything like this feature in CM? Thanks

There's no such feature in CUCM. All we provide is SNMP and RTMT alerts. There's no feature to have the system call you.

One good option is to configure RTMT to send alerts to a team distribution email address. If your support techs use Blackberries they can configure them to identify messages from RTMT as Level 1 PIN messages and have a custom notification set up so their phone alerts them. That has worked well for me.
