Hi, I wanted to make a backup of my CUCM 12.5 platform.
I get the error "Failed to initiate backup. Backup failed, unable to create backup storage directory: /common/drf/2024-06-11-22-43-10/".
I first expanded the disk space of the CUCM VM from 200G to 800G, which didn't work.
After reading several articles, I wanted to free up space on the disk by running the COP file "ciscocm.free_common_space_v1.5.cop.sgn", but I again got an error "There is not enough disk space in the common partition to perform the upgrade. For steps to resolve this condition, please refer to the section "Pre Upgrade Tasks" in the Cisco Unified Communication Manager Upgrade Guide.".
I checked by doing "show status" and I got this:
My/logging disk is 100% full.
How can I solve the problem ?
Please help me.

There are probably hundreds of old post with the same question.
Have you checked them, before asking the same question again?
Why have you expanded the disk? Have you thought about it once, what you're even doing?!

can refer to this document to troubleshoot: Troubleshoot Full Common Partition in CUCM - Cisco

Thank you, I went through the article but actually the disk "Disk/logging 49573456K 0K 49290804K (100%)" is already 100% used. I can’t run the COP file to free up space. I get the error: "There is not enough disk space in the common partition to perform the upgrade. For steps to resolve this condition, please refer to the section "Pre Upgrade Tasks" in the Cisco Unified Communication Manager Upgrade Guide" when after upload I try to install the COP file.

The document mentions other methods to lower the common partition, such as adjusting the LWM/HWM, delete logs, or delete unused phones' FW. Have you tried those?

I tried it but my disk usage is always at 100%. I deleted log files, unused firmware from phones too, but still nothing. Please help me ...

Hi @m.gnahoui ,
In this case the space got freed, but the show status is providing the wrong info and stuck at 100%, I had a similar issue once. Please reboot the server (utils system restart), and check it again.
