I have a DID that is not mapped to a user or line. I want any calls placed to that DID forwarded directly to an external number, how would do I go about doing that?
Thanks

Hi there,
One way to create a "Dummy" or "Virtual" number in CUCM is
create it as a CTI-RP (CTI-Route Point.) When you create a
CTI-RP you will be able to set a CFWD on the DN page
Cheers!

Do I use the actual DID number as a CTI-RP? Or can I use any number?

Hello,
It would depend how the call is handed off to CUCM. For ex. the DID is 212-708-1010. The call comes into the gateway from the SP as 1010. The gateways sends 1010 to CUCM. In this example you would create a CTI RP with a DN of 1010. And forwarding all to the off-net number you would like to xfer to. Make sure the partition is reachable by the gateways CSS as well. And that the CSS you use to forward all on the DN has access to off-net route patterns.

Hello,
how do you get the CTI route point to register with the CUCM?
We have CTI-RPs for several applications and they register as soon as I connect them with the application users.
But if it's just an independent CTI-RP, configured with a forwarded DN and nothing else, how does it register??
Thanks & Regards,
Ben

Hi Ben, It doesn't need to be registered as it is created only to forward the calls back to external phone.
if you can set CFA (or CFUR) with the destination and correct CF CSS then it should work.
