CUCM Upgrade Problem

Hi,

I am currently running 8.5.1.13900-5 which is 8.5(1)SU3 and trying to upgade to  UCSInstall_UCOS_8.6.2.20000-2.

I checked the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Software Compatibility Matrix

I can directly upgrade to 8.6.2.20000-2 but I am getting "The selected upgrade is disallowed from the current version" error after a couple of minutes.

Any suggestions??? I know there are issues with MD5 but I don't think it is an MD5 issue.

I burned iso file to dvd.

Hi Murat,

Did you install;

ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.0.cop.sgn

as your first step?

Thanks for the solution. I just upgraded to 8.6.2 with ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn.

Hi,

Did you need any licenses after the instal (some software version licenses)? Because I tried to upgrade form 8.0, succeded, but phones wouldn't register because in licence information it said that software version licenses are missing.

So not sure if i should clarify it with licencing before upgrading client's server.

Also not sure if it happens because I am upgrading server which is running on demo license

I did not have problem with licensing.

Yes, this is your issue. You cannot upgrade servers with a demo license. As soon as you do this, the demo licenses are removed.

You can only use demo licenses on fresh installs.

What if,  if you upgrade from demo licence and upload the licence after the upgrade?

Just tested it.

I added licence after the upgrade.

The configuration did not lost.

but you have to restart the services because it comes as disabled.
