Hi,

Is it mandatory for an outbound pots dial peer a voice port has to be mentioned as well? If there isn't any voice ports mentioned for the dial peer can it automatically select which voice port to take?

Thanks in advance.

No, It has to be defined explicitly. It will not select automatically.

One Option is to create trunk group, which is a way to group Mulitple Ports and refers the trunk group in Dial-peer. So, in this case, it will choose from the available free Port under trunk group.

There are two kinds of Dial peer tagging:

Voip and Pots
Pots tag will able the matching dial peer go directly via "port"
Voip tag will able the matching dial peer go directly via "Ip address of the interface"

I don't know if that is what you really want to know. or can you rephrase your question?

Hello,

If there are no voice ports mentioned in the outbound dial-peer, it will not select automatically.
If you have multiple ISDN lines, group them under one trunk group and configure the dial-peer with this trunk group.

Hope this Helps !
