Hi,
The EVM-HD module uses an industry standard VOICE (CAT3-Type) RJ21 plug and cable.
I do not believe that Cisco resell the cable and connector, you should however be able to purchase it from any data cable wholesaler.
Below are the pinouts from the RJ21 socket on the EVM-HD module.
These guys have detailed the standard colour to pin number. http://www.digital-loggers.com/techtips/rj21x.gif
Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Gilin,
Just to add a note to Mikes good info (5 points for this nice work Mike)
Connecting Cisco High-Density Extension Modules to the Network - ***Make sure you order the RJ21 with a "MALE" connector***
The Cisco high-density extension module is connected to a distribution frame or patch panel with an RJ-21 cable.** RJ-21 cables are not provided with the network module.
Here are the parts you would need to connect to a 24 port rack mounted Patch Panel (without needing to terminate the cable with Bix or 110 connecting tools).

These are just examples :) I have not checked pricing $$
Hope this helps!

Hi there ,
I have a doubt about connecting the RJ 21 cable to the EVM-HD-8FXS/DID .
The gateway is identifying 8 voice ports, and the RJ-21 has 25 pairs .
For VG224 all pairs are used , each port is connected to one pair.
My question is which color pair corresponds to this 8 voice ports?

We have tested the first par blue-white with the first voice-port but i get no dial tone.
Any help is much appreciated

Hi,
You need to follow the pin out sequence.please refer this pinout and pin sequence.
If u want to use colour option then, u can use multimeter on Buzz/Beep option and connect one end to pin and other end to the cable.

Hi aman,
Following this color code :
-- R1/T1 will be the voice-port 1
-- R2/T2 will be the voice-port 2
.
.
.
--R8/T8 will be the voice-port 8
The rest of the pins are not used.
Is that correct?

Hi,
It is a good coloured pin out you have shared. The R1/T1 , R2/T2 ,..........R24/T24 sequence which u have shared is correct.
The rest of pins would be used provided u are going to use all 24 ports.
regds,
aman
