Expand CUCM from Be6000 to BE7000

Hey

What is the path for migrate from BE6000 to BE7000 (My customer need to expand number of endpoints)

Is this a new installation or is it possible to make a backup of the BE6000 and restore this on the BE7000, or is there any other way

What I suppose that as long as CUCM versions are same on old and new hardware , you can do the migration [take backup from BE6K H/w and restore on BE7K]?

BE7K supports 1000+ users in comparison to BE6K.The difference lies in more capacity of BE7K.

If anybody has more clarity,please share.

But is it possible to do a restore on "different hardware" that the original backup hardware. 

The sizing of the hardware is different (bigger harddrives, CPU RAM etc..)

Hi Thomas,

Backup and restore are independent of Hardware Platforms.

Do keep same IP address, Hostnames, security passwords etc. while building new CUCM .

Yes, it's possible, buy your 7K, and then just follow regular backup/restore rules (same version, IP, hostname, etc)
