How to save voicemail to Wav file or other format.

Hi All, I have an odd situation. I have a user who's son passed away recently and she wants to save a voicemail from him thats stored in her voicemail. I do not have Exchange integrated with Unity. And I'm dont want to invest alot of time into the Exchange intagration for one voicemail. So I'm trying to find any method really in pulling this voicemail off of Unity, in any format, that my end result would be in conveting to a wav or mp3 or something that I could save on a CD for her.

Not sure what you mean you're not integrated to Exchange. Unity only supports Exchange or Domino as the message store options, you forcefully need to be using one of those.

Most likely you're already using Exchange, so type this into a browser:

http:///exchange

You'll need HER credentials to log in and get the messages.

You can also try IMAP

Thanks for the response. You are correct we are using Exchange however, I meant that unity voicemail is not forwarding to our exchange accounts. I was just trying to see if there was a around enabling that connection. It seemed like alot of work for one voice mail.

Hello,

Java's suggestion is correct.  Your viocemail is running exchange.  Even though it does not tie to your Exchange account.  It is still a Exchange server.

By the default, webmail is enabled.  you don't have to do anything extra.  Just http:///exchange, then log in with her credential.

You should be able to get her voicemail in wav format.  I had a similar set up and unfortunately had a similar situation to get a voicemail for a user.

is where we can actually do some good Most of the time we are just

Right you all.  This one thing that you can feel proud of helping not that we don't care the repeat nagging customers this is a genuine help.  You will be rewarded immensely regardless you will be happy by helping.

I know you can try all the suggested solutions here is a more not technical but quick way to extract that voice mail.  You can just play the voicemail on a speaker phone and record it to windows media or PC the quality will be not so good but you will have it.  Option 2 will be buy a small device sold at any radio schack for 20-30 bucks plug it beween handset and phone record it to your PC the quality will be slightly better.

Its actually $19.00 on line at Radio schack find local store you can get it more cheaper.

Make sure you secure the voice mail to a safe format or multiple locations ASAP just incase you never know simple error may loose this valuable thing.

   You can go into the exchange message store on the Uity server. You DO NOT need to know the password. The exchnage and Unity system generate a trust and the passwords are not shared. Just log into the Unity server, go to exchange, active directory users, reset the password. Then you can use the http://IP.address/exchange shown above, use the new pass you set, and you can use the webpage to forward all of the messages. Then from you email convert the messages to MP3 from the free programs available
