Dialing a URI such as 123456@199.199.199.199 from a Jabber 11.6 client via CUCM 10.5.2, Expressway C/E 8.7.3 does not interwork.
The search shows SIP only, and never has a 2nd search for H.323.
Interworking is "On" on both Core and Edge.
The Traversal Zone is on and active for both H323 and SIP.

Hi John,
Were you able to verify if the call was extended from call manager to Expressway C?

Adarsh Chauhan

Yes the call hits the Expressway C and also the Expressway E. Normally there would be a search on SIP and then H323. I only see the SIP side. See last part of search from the expressway edge
Names and IP addresses changed to protect the innocent.

Please provide diagnostics log for both expressway-e and c. Also include call details, ie calling number, called etc

I guess I will open a TAC.

Hi,
If there are no changes from the default configuration I would expect to see on the ExpE a search against local zone.
Do you have a DNS zone configured on the ExpE with search rules (any alias or negative match your DNS domain)?
Is the ExpE configured for Direct calls to unknown IP addresses?
You can dial other URIs name@domain ok?

Here is the search rule
150 | DNS Search | Any | All zones | No | Alias pattern match | Regex | (?!.*@%localdomains%.*$).* | Leave | Continue | DNS Zone | Enabled |
Yes, ExpE is configured for direct calls.
Yes, I can dial other URI's no problem.

If you do a locate from the ExpC on that exact URI (sip:17175123@123.91.239.123) do you get a match when checking search history on ExpC and E?
Add a test transform on the ExpC removing the sip: at the beginning.

Yes, it locates it on both the EXPC and EXPE with or without the sip: in front.
