Hi Guys,
I have a 2951 router which i was able to register with CUCM using MGCP yesterday without any issue. This morning when I came back and see the status on CUCM it says it is not registered.
However if I do a Show CCM-Manager, the router says it is register with CUCM but on CUCM it says the status is unregistered. I tried removing isdn l3 bind ccm manger command, shutting down interfaces but still no success. I checked the router name domain name everything is correct nothing changed.
This is my mgcp config from the router
mgcp
mgcp call-agent 10.8.200.10 service-type mgcp version 0.1
no mgcp package-capability res-package
no mgcp timer receive-rtcp
mgcp bind control source-interface Loopback0
mgcp bind media source-interface Loopback0
mgcp behavior rsip-range tgcp-only
mgcp behavior comedia-role none
mgcp behavior comedia-check-media-src disable
mgcp behavior comedia-sdp-force disable
Priority Status Host
============================================================
Primary Registered 10.8.200.10
First Backup Backup Ready 10.20.30.10
Second Backup None
Please help me to fix this.
Thanks

Did you try to make a call to make sure it's not just the wrong status being shown??? You can restart the RIS service in CUCM for that.

The problem is I cannot test. Reason being our existing office is going to relocate to this new site where this 2951 gateway is. I do not want to create new Device Pool (lot of dependencies) and was thinking of using the existing device pool but will change the local route group on the device pool during the change window
Is there any other way to do the testing ?
Will there be any impact to the production environment if i restart the RIS Data Collector service ?
Thanks

Hi Kuldeep,
Try below on the router:
conf t
no mgcp
no mgcp bind control source-interface Loopback0
no mgcp bind media source-interface Loopback0
mgcp bind control source-interface Loopback0
mgcp bind media source-interface Loopback0
mgcp
I have seen same symptoms in past with mgcp gw and if i try to remove and add back the bind commands it had worked for me.
If the issue was with your RIS service there will be lot of other devices showing the same way - for example phones, they will be showing unregistered in CUCM but working otherwise. If that's the case restarting RIS service will help.
RIS service restart should have no impact.

Tried that but still same status
12-29-2014 10:30 PM
ok - can you post:
sh isdn status
sh run int serial X/x/x:15
sh controller e1 x/x/x brief
sh ccm-manager
sh run | s ccm | mgcp
To rule out RIS service issue you can create a route pattern (say your mobile) and point to this gateway and make a call to this number.
As said before RIS service will have no impact on the call processing, you can restart to rule it.
also confirm you are able to ping the call manager from your loopback just to make sure its routing correctly - ping 10.8.200.10 so l0

Hi Terry,
Yes I can ping the cucm 10.8.200.10. I tried to change the name on the cucm to see whether the router will get registered or not and it is not registering with cucm. When I put the correct name on cucm the router get registered immediately however the status on cucm still says unregistered. Here is the out put you requested

Yes and I can ping the cucm using lo 0

Ok there are couple of options:
1) in the posted mgcp config I see you dont have bind commands. I did ask you to remove and add them back.
can you add them back and do (no mgcp/mgcp)
2) Try restart the RIS service. (or go subscriber GUI and check the status from there)
3) Completely remove all mgcp config and configure from scratch again.
4) Post the following (attach in notepad) sh run, sh inventory and a screen shot of your gateway page in CUCM
I know its a lot but very hard to troubleshooting something without having it in front.

If the MGCP can not be fixed, what about using h323 / SIP instead?
05-11-2016 11:15 PM
Hi folks,
Am facing the same issue. As you suggested Terry, i followed with your steps but no luck. I have attached output of
sh ccm manager
sh isdn status
sh int Serial 0/3/0
sh controller e1
sh run
sh inv
On CUCM Manager under Gateway menu, MGCP shows me registered wiht CUCM and IP address of VG.
Pls suggest where am missing.

Layer 2 status shows TEI_ASSIGNED, you should post the output of "debug isdn q921"

Hi manish,
Pls suggest. I understand frame that I'm sending is not accepted. I see L1 is UP but L2 shows TEI_ASSIGNED under ISDN status.
They have similar infra where framing = NO CRC4, lincecode = hdb3 and clock source line.
regards,
Ritesh Desai.

Hi Ritesh,
Try deleting and adding once again .
Also paste the screenshot from MGCP status from cucm config. Also capture the CCM logs and run Debug MGCP All .
I know it is lengthy but this is how we need to do it.
thanks

Dear Deepak,
Thanks for revert. I planned to use SIP trunk between CUCM and VG and dial out calls to PSTN. :)

Ritesh Desai
