No caller id display in Cisco phone

Hello everybody

i need serious help here,

recently in my organisation they upgraded their PSTN phone system, this phone system connects to my Voice gateway cisco 2851 via serial port. when they upgraded their system they asked me to change some configuration in the call manager. i went to CCM administration page--->gateway configuratioon--->interface information-->protocol side---> change from switch to network...after that whenever i get any call from any PSTN phones or from external calls to any cisco phones,, i see "unknown number" displayes as caller id....since i dont have any support contract on right now i am not able to call cisco...also in my gateway console i am not able use debug commands to see the voip activity like "

debug voip ccapi inout

i am not able to see call incoming and out going

so please give me some suggestions and any possible solutions

i have callmanager version 6.0.1.2000

What protocol are you using MGCP or H323?

If you are using MGCP, have u tried running debug "debug isdn q931"

What happens if you change from network to switch? do you still have incoming and outgoing calls?

IOS version of your gateway.

I am using MGCP protocol

I used the same debug command but I don’t see any information at all I don’t see any debug messages

If I change from network to switch there is no incoming or outgoing calls

IOS version is Version 12.4(3g)

below is the running configuration

BHVOICE2851#sh run

Are you sure the equipment at your end has to be the network side? Usually the telco side is the network side and it provides clocking. Are you sure you changed the protocol from network to switch and did a 'no ccm-manager config' and 'ccm-manager config' for the gateway to pull the new config.

Is this the only gateway through which the calls can come inbound to your network? If so check whether the debug outputs are going to the log files.

Try this

no logging buffer

logging console

clear log

term mon

Now enable 'debug isdn q931' on the gateway and check what you see.

HTH

Nitesh
