Hello,
I will be setting up SRST for the first time and I had some questions in regards to it.
Currently at your main site we have CUCM 7.1.5 with 2x 3845 and 2x 3945's. They are running in hybrid mode, MGCP (to Avaya system) and H.323.
We are depolying a new remote site with a 2921 VGW that has a VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1 card that will have to PRI's. This is because when the phones go into SRST mode we want to utilize those PRI's for inbound and outbound calling.
My questions is, do the DID's we order through the telco need to sit on the main site 3845 router or would it be best for those DID's to sit out on the 2921 PRI's.
I hope this makes sense.
Thank You

The DIDs should be from the remote location for the following reasons:
1. they will be local DIDs to that site as oppose to LD DIDs if you have them on centralized PRI
2. When you fall into SRST they will still arrive to the site

Hi,
I agree with Chris, the added advantage of having the DIDs at the remote location is that you can utilise CAC together with AAR in order to breakout to the PSTN to call the remote site in the event that bandwidth is congested.
