Hi
Well.. IMO, Remote Destination and Associated Identity are pretty much the same thing.
The most significant difference is that the Associated Mobile Identity is directly linked specifically to a Dual-Mode phone in CUCM. When it is configured that way, the SNR function does not operate when the 'softphone' running on the dual-mode phone is registered - that way you don't receive an SNR call at the same time as an IP call.
Normal Remote Destinations would be used in conjunction with a deskphone typically, where there are always by definition two devices (a deskphone and a mobile) that are seperate and you wouldn't want the SNR to the mobile to stop working when the deskphone is 'registered'.

Hi,
Here the explanation:
- A Mobile Identity (Mobility Identity) is required to transfer calls from VoIP in Cisco Mobile to the mobile network (GSM).
- Remote destinations represent the cellular (or other phones) that are able to accept transfers from the user's desktop phone and can be used to initiate calls using Mobile Voice Access.
You can refer to this guide:

For remote Destination is calles SNR ( single nuble reach) it allows mobility , when user A have an ( cisco IP phone with ext 4444) and user A is not avilable in his office , the incoming call will be rings firstly on your ext and after that using SNR , user A will gets the call on his mobile ( based on your configuration and the time between your ext to forward to your cell phone).

Aaron hit the nail on th head (+5), use Mobile Identify for users with dual-mode phones i.e. Jabber for iPhone/Android to avoid getting the call twice when Jabber is registered and invoke SNR call when it is not registered. Pretty simple concept if you think about the benefit.
HTH,
Chris
