Is it possible to selectively disable G722 codec for a group of phones (e.g. via a Device Pool) or is G722 an all-or-nothing configuration ?

(This is on CUCM 8.x)

There is a enterprise parameter(Advertise G.722 Codec) for this In your case do not use the

enterprise parameter; it will disable the G722 for all phones in your cluster.

If I understand your question correct you want some phones to  just use g722 while your other

phones that use g711/g722 to just use g711 .

To accomplish your goal you can do the following...

1-Create one region RG722 with internal codec g722

2-Create one region RG711 with internal codec g711

3-Select the codec between region RG722 and Region RG711 to codec g711

4-Create a device pool dpg722 associate with region g722

5-Create a device poll dpg711 associate with region g711

6-Associate the phone that need to talk g711 with device pool dpg711

7-Associate the phone that need to talk g722 with device pool dpg722

8-Reset the phones

Hope the above information helps!

Thanks,
Karthik

There is no setting on DP or other bulk setting for this, you need to disable it on a phone basis.

Change the parameter:

Advertise G.722 and iSAC Codecs = disabled
