SIP Phones and SIP trunk on CUCME

Pawel Lenart

Hi all,

I have a problem with my system. I have C2801 and 4 phones (2 SIP phones and 2 SCCP phones). I'm trying to configure SIP trunk and SIP phones to work on 1 system so router can work as SIP client (for trunk) and SIP server (for phones) but I can't get it to work. I configured SIP trunk and every phone can phone out without any problem, SIP phones can phone SCCP phones but when I try to phone other SIP phone I can hear ring tone but when I pickup I can't hear anything on caller phone I can hear busy tone. When I try to phone from SCCP phones to SIP phones I can hear then ringing but when I pickup I can't hear anything and after a second I hear busy tone on caller phone. My config:

If using 7912, convert them to SCCP.

Everything will work fine after you do.

I use 7912 but I'm doing some testing and I need to get this problem resolved by using SIP phones (In office we have few 9971 which only work with SIP).

first, remove this 2 lines

sip

  bind control source-interface FastEthernet0/1.2  -->

  bind media source-interface FastEthernet0/1.2  -->

second, add this CLI, since all sip INVITE go out to SIP trunk becuase of outbound-proxy

voice register global

  no outbound-proxy

Workins as a charm. Thank you very much.

If you dont mind me asking one more question. When I debug CCSIP messages I can see that phones are still trying to go out and register with SIP trunk. Any idea why and how I can turn them off?

did you recreate phone profile?, if not.

voice register global

create profile

reset

or cold start phones.

Yes I did but it looks like it wasn't applied after reset. After I erased config from phone it picked up new file and messages looks correctly now. Thank you very much again for your help.

Pawel

Hi Dangsu,

I believe my last message was little premature.

I just checked (next day and router restart later) and SIP numbers are still trying to register with voiptalk. Do you have any suggesttions?

Pawel
