SIP phones recording

Hello all,

 

I am facing below problem.

 

I am trying to record sip telephones which are registered to same call manager.

I have sip trunk to recorder server from CUCM.

CUCM version:11.5.

Sip phones model:7911 and 7821.

 

Error message in cucm logs is:

 

trans coder is not configured.

Reason :Q850 Cause code:47.

 

But if i enable MTP required in phone device configuration Recording is happening properly.

 

Please suggest all sip phones needed MTP required enable for recording?

The recording server needs to support the SDP capabilities of the call being recorded. CUCM will not renegotiate media of an existing call to meet limitations of the recording server. Take a look at the SDP offer sent from CUCM to the recording server for a phone with MTP disabled and then compare that to the SDP response the recording server sends back.

You have to adjust the media settings in Call Recording Software to accept the one set on CUCM.
