Hi All,
We have a request that came in earlier, regarding the transfer of an end user's voicemail from her extension( phone ) to another extension .
Is such an option even available. Cisco Unity Connection : 6.1.2
Scenario : user A with extension : 901-401-xxxx wants to tranfer the voicemail ( on her extension) to a phone extension - 901- 412-xxxx .
Both are on the same unity connection server.

What do you mean by transfer voicemail?
Do you mean when someone calls 901-401-xxxx send the calls to 901- 412-xxxx's voicemail on busy/no answer?
If so there are few ways, a simplest one you be to create new VM profile that masks the number to 901- 412-xxxx and apply it to 901-401-xxxx DN. You can also look at alternate extension in UCON assuming 901-401-xxxx mailbox is no longer going to be in place.

Hi Abhishek,
Just to clarify, does user A want to transfer all her voicemail messages to
user B or is she moving to the new number and wanting to move her existing
mailbox (with messages) with her? And is the 6.1(2) version part of BE?
Cheers!

no these are two different users.
I told her such a thing is not possible, the best workaround is if you have got .wav file, through e-mail notification, we can send that .wav to the respective user .
No it is not a Business Edition.

OK, so user B wants to get copy of user A's voicemail?
Do you want it to be automatic for all messages without user interactions, or would user B forward the message manually?
If automatic I cannot think of an elegant solution, except for building a DL.
One approach would be to give user B shared line appearance of user A's DN on user B's phone so that he/she can access the mailbox assuming she/he knows the PIN.

The user is at a remote location, and when i had a word with her, she mentioned that she pressed the 6option after the IVR prompt, after the usual saving , deleting and setup option prompt in the menu.
Have not seen such a thing for a while.

Hi Abhishek,
Messages would have to be Forwarded individually
Listen to message Press 6 to forward - record intro (if required)# - enter user b
info - press # to send
Cheers!

Does this ever worked ? and have you found any solution for this. Like what are the basic criteria required for user to transfer their message from one mailbox to another mailbox by entering other user ext manually.
Thanks!
