Hi,
a short question to upgrade.
We have an CUCM 8.5 Cluster with Publisher and Subscriber and want to upgrade to 8.6.2
Can I install the new software at both servers and then reboot the publisher first and after that the subscriber- or must I do the install and reboot at
the publisher first and after that the install and reboot at the subscriber?

Hi SA,
Just to add a note to the good tips from Manish and Dennis (+5 guys!)
The move to CUCM 8.6 is known as a "Refresh" upgrade and requires
more down time and some extra steps. You must install the refresh.cop
as the first step and additional reboots will happen here. It's not quite
as straight forward as a standard L2 upgrade.
Read these great attachments from Ryan @ Cisco for a little
added Refresh info
Cheers!

Install the upgrade file on both servers first.
Then do a switch version on Publisher.
Once the switch version finishes on Pub, do it on Subscriber.

Thanks for your answer. As I wrote reboot I meant "switch version".

When you install the software, you can install on the inactive partition and choose NOT to do the reboot when the installation is finished. during maintanance window, do what Manish says, but remember, any possible language pack, or other option (.cop file) that you have on your current version of cucm, you will need to install that on your 8.6.2 version as well.

Just thought i would add my couple pence, when upgrading the pub allow for a considerable more time for upgrading than before, probably double the amount of time due to the "refresh" upgrade as helpfully noted by Rob..When i did this for the first time i thought it had crashed and nearly aborted :-)
