Hi,
I have a Cisco 890 Router. But I lost the setup CD/DVD to configure my Cisco 890. Can somebody tell me
how I can access the webinterface or setup from this router. Or can I somewhere download the software?
Thx

Hi
You need to go to Windows device manager, then search the COM ports and if you have the drivers configured properly you will see the COM port (see image 1).
Once you have identify the COM port you can open putty, select Serial and set up the COM port (see image 2).
Please keep us posted.

Hi
On that picture you are the privileged exec mode, now you can configure the router executing configure terminal
06-17-2017 01:26 PM
ok thx :-)
1. I want it in DHCP our change the routers ip en sub
2. How to activate wireless connection
06-17-2017 01:36 PM
Hi
If you want to create a DHCP scope you need to configure the following:
Example
ip dhcp pool MYDHCP
network 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0
default-router 192.168.10.1
dns-server 8.8.8.8 4.2.2.2
ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.10.1
In order to configure wireless on a router 891W, you need to follow this configuration:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/800/880/software/configuration/guide/880_basic_device_wireless_config.html
:-)

Ok,
let me explain what i want to do.
1. I want to configure the Cisco Router as a Wireless Access Point
2. I have already a Wireless Modem on cable (here in Belgium it is Telenet)
3. That Telenet modem is on ip 192.168.0.1 (See attachement picture)
4. I have a second Wireless Access Point configured on IP 192.168.0.3
5. The networkcable i will connect will come on NetwerkInferface 0 port
I hope this explains a little bit better what I want to do with it :-)
Kind Regards

Hello,
issue the command:
show run
and post the output. We can then fill in the necessary bits and pieces...

Hi,
hereby the pic that I get when running command "show run"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cisco Configuration Professional (Cisco CP) is installed on this device.
This feature requires the one-time use of the username "cisco" with the
password "cisco". These default credentials have a privilege level of 15.
YOU MUST USE CISCO CP or the CISCO IOS CLI TO CHANGE THESE PUBLICLY-KNOWN
CREDENTIALS
Here are the Cisco IOS commands.
username <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
no username cisco
Replace <myuser> and <mypassword> with the username and password you want
to use.
IF YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE PUBLICLY-KNOWN CREDENTIALS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE
TO LOG INTO THE DEVICE AGAIN AFTER YOU HAVE LOGGED OFF.
For more information about Cisco CP please follow the instructions in the
QUICK START GUIDE for your router or go to http://www.cisco.com/go/ciscocp

Cisco Configuration Professional (Cisco CP) is installed on this device
and it provides the default username "cisco" for one-time use. If you have
already used the username "cisco" to login to the router and your IOS image
supports the "one-time" user option, then this username has already expired.
You will not be able to login to the router with this username after you exit
this session.
It is strongly suggested that you create a new username with a privilege level
of 15 using the following command.
username <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
Replace <myuser> and <mypassword> with the username and password you want to

Can you post a schematic drawing of your setup including IP addressing ? That would make it easier to make a recommendation...
That said, to be on the safe side, I would configure a different subnet for the Cisco. So, instead of 192.168.0.0/24, use 192.168.2.0/24 for the Cisco. The configuration would look like this:
