Hello,
We are looking to buy one of the C9500 switch models, particularly, the C9500-24Y4C platform. We would like to connect 10 X 16Gb Copper to uplink some servers to this switch. According to the Optics Matrix, this particular model only supports the Cisco SFP+ Copper Twinax direct-attach cables.
The data sheet for this switch model says "
C9500-24Y4C |
Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series high-performance 24-port 1/10/25G Gigabit Ethernet switch with SFP28 |
I am not clear on what this means when it says "with SFP28". I am hoping someone would be able to clarify for me. I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
SFP28 basically supports 1/10/25 Gig. Just so you know, this switch is not designed for a server/data center environment. If you are looking to connect high-performance servers to this switch, take a look at the Nexus platforms.

@Reza Sharifi ... thank you, sir!
Unfortunately, our company decided to use the Catalyst platforms instead of the Nexus platforms.
