Hi,
we did upgrade from 16.12.5b to 17.3.4 as ISSU.found too late ISSU matrix telling is not supported...
during upgrade chassis fell into a constant bootloop which we had to break using ROMMON.
now we try and stuck at:
switch5#install abort issu
may you advise on how to proceed ?
output log attached: log.txt
Best Regards

is this part of SVL ?
why it showing switch 5 ?
--- Starting preparation for software rollback ---
FAILED: No rollback file found for /bootflash/packages.conf
as per the information it not able to find the files, not sure what command you issued.
you need to break the SVL and put them in ROMMON do a traditional way upgrade and bring back to sVL.

Never, ever believe in the hype about ISSU &/or FSU/eFSU.
ISSU &/or FSU/eFSU usually work in "corner cases" like labs or demos.
IMPORTANT: Upgrade to 17.3.5 instead.
Kindly refer to the PDF attached. I have written an easy-to-understand procedure about how to upgrade the firmware of a stack of 9300 in Install Mode (the document even have pictures!).
IMPORTANT: Read the Release Notes carefully.

l have few questions
should the ISSU have been accepted by 16. IOS if it was explicitly listed as improper upgrade ?
why we got stuck into in progress state ?
Best Regards

Usually, ISSU does not work when you upgrade from one major version to another (16.12.5b to 17.3.4), and that is most likely why you got stuck in progress.

Have a look at CSCwc54402, CSCwh29442. Interesting bugs, no?
