Etherchannel setup

I have a Cisco 2960-X AL and a 3850-XS 10G SFP+. I have added an etherchannel bundle of 2 interfaces on both switches and the port-channel is up. The goal is to increase the throughput capability of the 2960-X. My question is, as the ports say they're up/connected on both switches, on the 3850 itself the lights are flashing amber. Is there some error im missing? Or is this normal? The following is my etherchannel detail out and logs.

There seems to be some inconsistency here as you are using 10Gig ports on one switch and Gig ports on the other switch. In order for a Portchannel to work correctly the speed and duplex on all the ports must be the same. HTH

Yes, that is what I remember but would the Te port not just throttle down to 1000/mbs? Im just confused as to why the ports are showing connected with speed set at that. If it is not going to work shouldnt 1 port be suspended to prevent the loop?

Added note: I just swapped all the sfp's for sfp+ and went to a cat 3560-CX and the 3850 is displaying the same yet all ports are showing connected.

Your setup seems to be correct. You are using SFPs in the 10Gig ports to lower the speed to 1Gig and the 10Gig interfaces show as 1Gig.

Try deleting the Portchannel completely and remove the config from under the physical interfaces and rebuild them in this sequence.

create the PO by adding the config under the physical interfaces

now under the po do a "no sh" to bring up the po and the physical interfaces and test.

Did as you stated, same result. I do see that no ports are being blocked from spanning tree so I think i may be dealing with a bug from what @Leo Laohoo stated.

And the port(s) LED flashes amber ONLY on the 3850 (and never on the 2960G), am I correct?

It could either be CSCvj16691 or CSCvd19192.

Im thinking you may be right. I am on 16.06.04 and that version is not stated in CSCvj16691 but it could just not have been reported and it also says its not 100%. As far as I can tell stp is not blocking any ports, and its showing correct speeds. My switches arent fully configured so i guess i wont know for sure until I test in the field.

Do not associate the behaviour with the firmware version of the switch or router.  In my personal opinion and observation, Cisco bug IDs are getting more and more unreliable because they are not being updated.  

To get confirmation if you're hitting this bug or not, raise a TAC Case.

your PO is SU meaning it "L2 in used" so PO is ok.
the issue if you can help me to be more sure is STP,

check if two LED is flashing or only one.

flashing meaning the STP is in BLK status.

Both lights are flashing. STP show 0 blocked ports.
