Hi All
Can someone please help in this issue?
I have a serviceable and operational SFP and unplugged it from a 7206 vxr and then installed it in CISCO 3560 SWITCH but the switch gives this error:
%GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Gi0/1 has bad crc
%PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi0/1, putting Gi0/1 in err-disable state
I twice shut and then no shut the port but the result is same and the same SFP is ok in the mentioned router.
Regards.

Hi,
Try upgrading the IOS on the 3560. Your current IOS may not support it.
also have a look at this link for more info:

Thanks Reza for your reply.Instead of upgrading the ios i tried the alternate option suggested by someone else and it worked.
no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid
service unsupported-transceiver
These are both global mode .

its works but
Gi0/1 notconnect 1 auto auto "unsupported"
is it recommended to use 3rd party module ?

Catalyst switches do not support 3rd party modules

What it means is it will probably work but if you have an issue and try to go to cisco for support they will not support your setup . If you don't have a service contract then it probably doesn't matter. It's up to you to guarantee that the sfp will work according to specs.

hi for the second command the below message
Warning: When Cisco determines that a fault or defect can be traced to
the use of third-party transceivers installed by a customer or reseller,
then, at Cisco's discretion, Cisco may withhold support under warranty or
a Cisco support program. In the course of providing support for a Cisco
networking product Cisco may require that the end user install Cisco
transceivers if Cisco determines that removing third-party parts will
assist Cisco in diagnosing the cause of a support issue.
