Does anyone know when will nexus os support "ip forward-protocol udp xxxx" in Nexus OS?  i.e. udp 55555.

Thank you,

Nexus does not support the command "ip forward-protocol" or "ip helper-address" and a feature req

uest is open for this. We might see this feature integrated in nx-os one day. No concrete plans yet.

Cisco TAC.

Hi,

I have a customer who needs this feature. Any plans when this will be implemented in NX-OS ?

This is a hard requirement.

Thank you

Roman

this feature is added in Nexus 5.2..

many thanks for your reply. Can you provide me some approx. release dates ?

I really would appreciate this.

Thanks again

Roman

this version is already released.  check Cisco site.

By end of last year you've mentioned that "ip forward-protocol udp" will be in NX-OS 5.2 and the version should be released by that timeframe.

I was not able to find NX-OS 5.2 by then and still the newest release available (since June 5th, 2012) is NX-OS 5.1()N2(1).

Please can you give me a timeframe about the availability of NX-OS 5.2 and whether the required function will be implemented by then. This is a hard customer-requirement.

Regards

Roman

Update About This:

As per Cisco Internal resources, support for the command "ip forward-protocol" is in the roadmap in Nexus 7000 NX-OS Release Notes Release 7.0.

As a work around for the absence of the "ip forward-protocol UDP" on the Nexus 7000, other customers have used an ISR or other router on a stick connected to the N7Ks to handle this traffic. Not glamorous but it works for things like this, DLSw, etc.

Any updates or Whitepapers on how the can be configured (while waiting for the release 7.0?)
