I am looking to implement MSTP at our largest site and I was wondering if it may be better to split this into two seperate regions.
We have 2 'sites' with 4500 series routers at each core, linked by a layer 2 dark fibre.
Site 1
29 Switches (mixture of HP and Cisco)
22 seperate VLANS
Site 2
13 Switches (mixture of HP and Cisco)
23 seperate vlans
Would I be best to create a seperate MST region for each site in this instance? I have implemnted MST in several other smaller sites in a single region across both HP and Cisco and not run into any issues, im just worried that this many vlans and switches may result in convergance issues?
Any advice on this one folks?

Hi,
If there are some more critical services running on different VLANs as Servers, Voice etc. Then make 2 regions as one with critical services and another with normal services VLANs. If there will any changes happen in the normal VLANs, it will not give outage to critical services.
