C40 upgrade

         Hello,

Currently our C40 Codec is 4.2.1 version, can i upgrade directly to 5.1? Do we require any license for the new version?

I already downloaded the s52000tc5_1_7.pkg.

Our VCS is X7.1.

Yes, you can upgrade directly to 5.1, and yes, you need release key to upgrade from one major version to another, which this upgrade is, so a valid service contract must be in place.

If you have a service contract then you can obtain release key by e-mailing licensing@cisco.com and include codec serial number and, if known, contract number, or, if you have access, you can look it up on the licensing portal.

As of TC6.1 you won't need release keys anymore, but you still need a valid service contract though.

Upgrading to TE6 software version you will not need to enter any license key but for any major upgrade like from TC4 to TC5 and TC5 to TC6 requires a valid license key.

Hi Bobby,

Alternatively, if you have TMS in place and this unit added in TMS. Select the unit and click on check for updates and this should get all the details for you. Please note that your TMS should have internet connectivity and C40 a valid service contract.

If no TMS, please open a case with licensing provding the serial # of the unit.
