Laptop/PC presentation from C20 to Sony PCS-1 causes Video to freeze

We have issues with video calls between Cisco C20 and  Sony PCS-1 endpoints

When  a PC/Laptop presentation is started from the C20 during a Video call,  the receiving side (Sony PCS-1 endpoint) gets a fixed- image. The audio  part of the video remains ok.

This doesn’t happen when the presentation is started from the Sony endpoint.

The problem also doesn’t occur if the video call is between 2   C20 or between 2 Sony  PCS-1 endpoints.

All devices are registered on the VCS (version 7.1). There is an MCU 4500 for multiway.

C20 Software Version: TC 5.1

Sony PCS-1 Software version: 3.42

Has anybody experienced this problem before?

we hava a similar Problem with Sony C20, EX60, EX90, c40 when communication to sony endpoints.

After a while the Video Freeze and only audio goes threw.

This only happens if the Cisco Endpoint is Release 4.2 and later

Hi All,

Sony PCS-1 is not fully interoperable with C series. Here is the section pointing that out :

Here's the note for your reference :

Dual stream is limited to 1 FPS. The main video frame rate will never exceed 15 FPS.

Hi Emmanuel,

Cisco/Tandberg Endpoints are not fully interoperable with all Vendors and thier are certain limitations to some extent. The case which you are talking here is one of them but before going ahead with any conclusion.

You need to narrow things down by performing troubleshooting .

Here are some steps which you can check :-

1.)  You can bypass all infrastructure devices in between and then try Presentation Sharing again.

2. ) As clearly Stated in Mubashshir's post, this issue is in TC 5, then please downgrade your endpoint to TC 4 and check again.

3. ) Try to collect logs from both the endpoints which are working and which are not working  and then try to compare and check where the problem starts.

4. ) If you see that Tandberg Endpoint is not able to send presentation , then open a bug with Cisco otherwise Open up a Bug with Sony.
