Call Transfer in CUCM

Hi,

Cisco CUCM (11.5.1.12900-21)

I would like to know if there is specific kind of transfer available to use, specificly, when call goes into first phone and wants to transfer that call to second phone with a click of a button, is this feature available? What is it called?
As i know, transfer only works after you answer call first, but in my case, i don't want to answer the call.

If anyone can help, please respond.
Thanks

Without answering the call it wouldn't be a transfer, it would be a call forward. To my knowledge there is no way to get a call that is in the alerting/ringing state to be forwarded somewhere by the push of a button, other than with DND, but that would go to voice mail if that is setup. From what I can think of DND cannot be set to forward the call to a specific destination, but I could be wrong.

Immediate Divert (iDivert) is the nearest option but AFAIK it always goes to voicemail. You could test setting a different CFNA or CFB destination to see if it actually follows one of those.

Hi @saba53

I had a somewhat similar setup. It may not be a standard option, but you could give it a try if this matches your requirement.

As @Jonathan Schulenberg said you can use iDivert option and need some configuration to route the call to second phone in Unity.

You need to create two voicemail users for those two extensions in Unity, and configure the following settings for your main extension in Unity.

Navigate to user->edit->greetings-.Standard

1234 is your second extension.

This works by pressing the decline button to route the call to voicemail, and then it is routed to the second extension.

Please note that you may not need to setup call forward to voicemail on the second extension. Because incoming calls to main extension goes to second extension voicemail.(This can also be setup using "Forwarded routing rules")

Interesting opinion. One thing, wouldn’t this result in the extension not being able to have voicemail message services to have callers leave a message?

@Roger Kallberg Yes that is correct. The call will always goes to second extension.

Thanks, that’s what I thought as well.

Would the 'Manager Assistant' feature do what you are looking for?
