Cisco Collaboration applications do not support hypervisors that are not VMware vSphere ESXi (e.g. Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, Red Hat Virtualization, etc. are not supported)

As already recommended, NO, even if you tried TAC wont support it.

Well that it can run on other virtualisation platforms doesn’t mean that it’s supported by Cisco. If you ever need help from TAC you’ll be ineligible.

hi @ammahend
How if we install the CUCM under vSphere then we do VM backup, then restore the VM to the Hyper-V. It will work?

No.

CUCM runs exclusively on VMware and cannot be installed on any other virtualization platform at present.
I noticed you have another post in the community about a fresh install with data export for CUCM. I'm guessing you might be unfamiliar with CUCM. Since you are planning a migration, I recommend involving a local partner who specializes in collaboration solutions.

Is Microsoft's Hyper-V virtualization support on the roadmap? If so, do you know when? What year or quarter?
Thanks you.

No it is not.

If no Hyper-V, fine. Are any other supported Hypervisor platforms on a public roadmap?
The nature of these questions is due to predatory licensing changes Broadcom has brought with their acquisition of VMWare.
We have seen the licensing costs increase over 300% with no stabilization. Costs initially more than doubled and then they came back and have added 50%. No multi-year to help contain cost, no anything that make sense for smaller customers.
But those of us running and happy with Cisco UC are stuck paying the new high premium on the virtualization side. It may be a driver for hosted UC, but that is a whole slower moving project.

This isn’t on anything that can be shared publicly yet. Advise you to reach out to your Cisco account team to enquire about details on this.
