CUCM versions -where to find 12.5.1.x = SUx as example

May be a stupid question , but is there some place within Cisco site or somewhere that lists the Cisco versions with what it equates to in the other format they use.

I am looking at various versions to upgrade to (both 11 & 12  from 10.5) , looking at Advisories  and BUGs  and they like to list version in this format: 12.5(1.13900.146) or 12.5(1.13900.136)  etc .

To  see its equivalent in the Download page , I have to click in left panel for a particular version -shows in format 12.5.1(SU3)  ,  then in the right panel , the download version presents  the format 12.5.1.13900.152  (example).

I have to go to each 12.5.1 (SUx)  to find the equivalent  version number shown in the  BUG.

So ....  Compliance sends you a  vulnerability finding , next  go find the Advisory , then go to the BUG the Advisory  referenced to find Affected/ Fixed version ,  then go to Download page and hunt thru versions listed in one format to find the  other version format that is the fixed version found in the BUG.

Hoping its just me that has not found a more efficient way to navigate this -  is there a list somewhere ?

Yes with  14 There is no more .0 and .5. 14.SU1  got released and the numbering  14.0.1.11900  looks similar to the  old numbering

True, but the part in question looks to stay the same. The newly released SU1 for 14 for ex is version14.0.1.11900.

So it appears that a chart of the  version format is still needed by customers.

Seems Cisco should put some chart doc, somewhere obvious / cant be missed place.

What reason would a chart be needed for this? Isn’t it quite obvious with the information at hand that 11900 is SU1? Given that the second 1 and the 9 gives away that it’s SU1?

@Roger Kallberg

Considering myself and at least one other person (who commented)  were not aware of that format concept - I have to assume there are many more,  and I think the better question is  why not publish it , why make it a time consuming effort to find or eventually figure out.

What started it for me is going through the Advisory --> BUG   --> Download page to hunt and peck ... scenario.

I just think Cisco could do a better job at making this more clear and placing  the format conversion somewhere a person can find it easily.  Unless of course its just me   which is possible !

as an example below - BUG shows  a boat load of Fixed Ver  ... yes the 1st  3 seem to fall in the explanation Nithin Eluvathingal provided in his link . But the rest seem a bit much to discern when I am going through a bunch of advisories.   again , may be just me !

Fixed versions:

CCM.14.0(1.10000.20)

CCM.12.5(1.13900.152)

CCM.012.005(001.14035.001)

CCM.012.005(001.13900.152)

CCM.012.005(001.13900.133)

014.002(003.23171.001)

014.000(000.98230.001)

011.005(001.21700.001)

The first three would be available   publicly through Cisco's download page. Rest AFAIk its through TAC.

I absolutely agree with you on that it could be made a lot clearer. About your list, all the once apart from the two that are SU releases are ES, Engineering Special, releases and can only be retrieved by special access given by TAC.

true. no real need to change it. just some "extra" digits at this point

I for one, am glad of that change .. spent so much time trying to correlate which that was in the Download area
