Good afternoon
We have a problem after an unexpected hardware shutdown, now when logging into CUCM an error appears "
WARNING: Ungraceful shutdown detected - A rebuild or upgrade of this node may be required to ensure no negative impact
(such as configuration or file system corruption). For instructions, see the installation guide and upgrade guide for this version." I ask for help in solving this problem. Unfortunately, there is no Backup file to restore

Hello @KOA

Please refer to this bug: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvy68211

There's a fix for this issue that doesn't require a rebuild of the system ..

Best regards

This is an enhancement introduced in the latest versions. When CUCM is shut down ungracefully, a warning will be triggered. Versions 12.5.1SU6, 14SU2, and higher have this CLI command by default , which you can use to turn off this warning. If you are on a version below the ones mentioned, you will need to install the COP files “ciscocm.add_utils_ungraceful_warn_disable_v1.0.k4.cop.sha512” on all affected nodes. Doing so will give you the option to disable this warning using the command “CLI Command: utils ungraceful warn disable”.

The recommended option is to ensure your DB is not  affected by the ungraceful shutdown and if not affected, turn off the warning using the above command.

You can check the DB using the following commands:

To check integrity:

Database: Use the CLI command ‘show tech dbintegrity’ to check database integrity.
OS: Boot off the recovery.iso and run a file system check to verify OS file system integrity.

In the worst case scenario of data corruption there might be no way to recover the server, you really need to start planning a backup strategy if you don't have one.

Install the below cop files on affected nodes.

ciscocm.add_utils_ungraceful_warn_disable_v1.0.k4.cop.sha512

Go to CLI and enter the command to disable this warning.

utils ungraceful warn disable

Hi everyone,

Where can I find that cop file?, I was looking for the cop file at software download and... nothing!

If this helps, do not forget, rate!!

Depending on what version of CM that you're using it could be already present in the available commands or it could be that it simply isn't supported for your version? For version 12.5 you can find the COP file here. https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286322286/type/286319173/release/COP-Files

The COP file is required if you're using a version where the command is not natively supported. You can find it in version 12.5 under Unified Communications Manager Utilities - COP Files. Refer to the link shared by @Roger Kallberg
