Hi All,
I am looking for a list of Cisco recommended SFTP servers to run on Windows Server 2008. I have referd to the Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration Guide, Release 9.1(1) in which it states the following:
Cisco allows you to use any SFTP server product but recommends SFTP products that have been certified with Cisco through the Cisco Technology Developer Partner program (CTDP). CTDP partners, such as GlobalSCAPE, certify their products with specified versions of Cisco Unified Communications Manager. For information on which vendors have certified their products with your version of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, refer to the following URL:http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/ctdp/Search.pl
But the link does not not go anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
Paul

There is a free version of COPSSH : https://www.itefix.no/i2/content/compare-copssh
But I do like that people object to spending less than the cost of a single phone power supply on software to store their critical system backups :-)

If FreeFTPd had worked for more than 2 years without issues that mean is reliable (at leats for me).

Hi Aaron,
Does this package suffer from the limitations in FreeFTPD?

Titan FTP Server is also certified in the CTDP. https://marketplace.cisco.com/catalog/products/4050

Globalscape's EFT was tested and certified for use with UCM. Version 6.4 was certified with UCM v8.6, but customers are still using them together as they update their systems. Just remember that with "free" software that you download off the Internet, "you get what you pay for."

Titan FTP Server is recommended by Cisco, and is part of the CTDP. Here is a link to the Titan FTP product page.
Keep in mind when looking at products like globalscape or Titan that CUCM backup requires SFTP, and the lower end versions of these products do not offer that protocol. To have SFTP included in Titan will cost $1199.95, which includes a year of maintenance. In Globalscape, it costs $1390 with no maintenance or $1664 with one year of maintenance. Here's the Globalscape page: http://www.globalscape.com/store.aspx

I ran into bug CSCus64397 which would not allow Cygwin on a Windows Server 2012R2 box to communicate with CUCM version 9.1.2.11900-12 specifically. If anyone else runs into this problem the only solution is to use a different SFTP program. Once you set up the Cygwin server everything looks good until you try to set a backup device in DRS, where it will tell you it can't communicate with the SFTP server and that your username/password may be wrong.

You may also want to try Syncplify.me Server! which has a specific setting for Cisco UC platforms and works well also as a backup target for WebEx (just in case).

If you wanted to back up to Cloud Storage (S3, OneDrive, Backblaze, etc.) using SFTP you could use Couchdrop which is a fully hosted cloud SFTP server.
