Hi,
I am connecting UCS system to storage with mds9124 in between.
So far i have integrated 2 UCS systems, everything went smooth.
Now, new UCS system has arrived, it is same as before, only difference is that now we have PALO for first time.
Stanard configuration, service profiles, uplinks, etc and now i have a strange situation
On MDS ports connected to FC uplink ports on my 6120xp i can not see pwwn's of my service profiles, only wwn of uplink ports and vsan wwn logged in.
NPIV is of course enabled, i tried to recreate profiles, to change wwpn-s pools, but no use...on UCS i dont have any configuration issues, ports are up, service profiles associated...i am really confused.
I checked my configuration with cisco guides ("Designing and Deploying a Cisco Unified Computing System SAN Using Cisco MDS 9000 Family Switches"), but i dont see why this is not working.
Any idea? In past configurations with MENLO adapters, everything went really smooth.
Thank you

Thats the way palo works. You won't see Palo login to fabric until the OS drivers are loaded. In the case of SAN boot you have to create a specific boot policy that assigns the lun to the vhba and in that case it is programmed and will login to the fabric to SAN boot.
If you are simply powering on the Blade and expecting Palo to login to the fabric like a Menlo or Qlogic it won't do it.

Cheers mate!
Works perfectly, and fast!
Ih you have links to some guides, focusing on PALO, can you share?
It seems that cisco web site lacks a bit in-depth configuration documentation
