Hello, can you confirm if you ever tried this? I find the referenced document not specific enough for my liking (I am used to Catalyst switches where you cannot use 100Mbps SFPs in a GX/X/X SFP slot). Thank you

I do not have a 3850 in front of me to play with, but have you tried any variations of 'locater-led' / 'no locator-led' that is a Cisco Nexus command for something similar. You could also try 'beacon' / 'no beacon'

I am trying to transfer a config file from a perfectly fine working router to a laptop (Procomm Plus) using Xmodem. The file is on the router (2811) compact flash. I am using the following commands: Router#copy flash: xmodem: ****Warning**** blah-blah-blah xmodem takes forever bla bla why don't you do something else like tftp or even copy paste? blah blah.. ******** Proceed? [confirm] Source Filename []? nameofconfigfile.cfg Destination filename [nameofconfigfile.cfg] Service Module slot number? [1]: Service Module interface number? [0]: 1k buffer? [confirm] Max Retry Count [10]: 5 Xmodem send on slot 1 interface 0. Please be sure there is enough space on receiving side. Continue? [confirm] Ready to send file.......... My questions are: what is the purpose of the Service module slot and interface numbers? I have used xmodem a lot but always from ROMmon to recover from IOS issues. Now I just want to use it as a serial transfer protocol from a working device. I know there are other (easier) ways to do what I want, but I would like this to work. Thanks, Mike

Hello Aateek, 2800 Series routers (along with all Genration 1 ISR's- 1800/2800/3800's) do not use licenses. The advipservices feature set is loaded just by changing which IOS you boot to. In order to confirm you are using the advipservices feature set, perform a #sh version the output should start like what's below, only you want to see ADVIPSERVICES instead of ADVENTERPRISE and then whatever version you have. Any specific commands or features you need should work as soon as you confirm this. If the #sh version output says you are still using ipservices, you need to check your boot statements to make sure your router is trying to load the correct IOS file (you can watch this during the boot process if you have a direct console to the device). Hello Vasilii, Reseating the DRAM was out thought as well, and it did solve the issue (well that or reseating the PVMD, because we did them all together). However I was hoping someone had seen the error before or could explain it. Thanks, Mike

We have a 3945E router which had been isolated from the network due to recabling (but not powered down) for a few weeks. When it was reconnected to the network the links did not come up and the router did not respond to console requests (not recognized at all / no output). It was decided to power cycle the router, this caused a single line to appear on the console- "FATAL ERROR: ERR_DDR_DQSOFFCAL" there is no further visible attempt to boot and no other response or indication. An additional power cycle yielded the identical result. All port indicator lights on the router are off. I could not find this fault or anything remotely similar on this forum or Google. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Hi, better late than never I suppose, we have had the same issue. Unfortunately your experience is correct, the 3845 will not support a 100Mbps SFP in the onboard G0/0 SFP slot. It is impossible. 2900/3900's can do this, but only with a the GLC-GE-100FX type SFP. No other SFP's will work in the onboard Gigabit slots while running 100Mbps.
