Hi All,
Just have a basic querry, What is the default mode of 1142 AP. When it's shipped from Cisco, Does it works as LAP or it can be used as a Autonomous ?
Also, incase we just get it shipped from Cisco, does it have any default IP address that we can use to telnet it from the PC.
Pls. suggest. Thanks !
Regards
Harish

The default mode as per your quote to Cisco, you can ask for CAPWAP or IOS image.CAPWAP mode AP will have default IP of 10.0.0.1, if you haven't configured DHCP.
Thanks

AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9 = CAPWAP part number
AIR-AP1142N-A-K9 = Autonomous part number
Same AP just different code and you can swap code if needed.

Hi George,
today I get my first AIR-LAP1042N-E-K9. I didn't know about the LAP - AP differences.
But may be it's possible to swap mode to autonomous?

Daniel

Yes, you can convert the Lap to autonomous mode. Check cisco.com for process.

Wow.... what a fast answer. Thanks.
But I'm not able to download the file c1140-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA1.tar, because I have no service contract :-(
