Hi All,

The question is the following: The AP joins correctly to the WLC 9800 with version 17.9.3 but when validating the radios are inOperation Status DOWN.

The model of the AP is CW9164I.

The policy and Tag are correctly configured as well as the country code and Ap join profile.

Go to the AP and enable the 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz radio individually.

Hi Leo, Is this done from the WLC? or from the AP.

What would the command be?

ap name <NAME> NO dot11 24ghz shutdown
ap name <NAME> NO dot11 50ghz shutdown

Hi Leo,

the fault persists applying the commands.

Is this affecting all APs or just one AP?

Hi Leo.

It is an initial testing ap

Here is the answer.

The AP is ROW (Rest Of the World) Regulatory Domain which is not compatible with the WLC setting of "CO".

Hi Leo,

I had already reviewed this topic and according to the documentation the Country Code CO is compatible with -ROW. Could you confirm? Thanks.

Raise a TAC Case.  I think this is a bug.

If it still won’t work, make sure it is at least in a POE+ switch port or power injector. With regular PoE (15W only), it will only join and not turn on radios.

Hi eglinsky2012,

on the switch side it is delivering (30 W) on the port that the AP is connected.

what does "show wireless country channels" show?

Have you checked your WLC config with https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-config-analyzer/ using the output of
"show tech wireless"?

Check https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/217734-connect-and-join-a-row-domain-access-po.html#toc-hId-175609071

Hi Rich,

I had already read the document in the link but the error still persists.
