AP error with operation status Down.

Hi All,

The question is the following: The AP joins correctly to the WLC 9800 with version 17.9.3 but when validating the radios are inOperation Status DOWN.

The model of the AP is CW9164I.

The policy and Tag are correctly configured as well as the country code and Ap join profile.

the country domain of the APs that were held were -A and these were not compatible in Country CO. The case was taken to the TAC and it was necessary to change all the APs to a Country domain -ROW.

Keep in mind that this was a new implementation. It never worked, they only turned on the radios when changing the APs.

@aydinkocak use the Wireless LAN Compliance Lookup tool to find the correct regulatory domain for your country and make sure you have the correct AP model number matching that regulatory domain.

@Ruelb2214 If you have the same issue (you purchased APs with the wrong regulatory domain) then you need to replace the APs with the correct model number for your country regulatory domain.  Check the Wireless LAN Compliance Lookup tool to identify the correct model for your country.  It is illegal in most countries to use APs from the wrong regulatory domain.

Hi, Yes solved I updated to 17.15.x and solved. Previously our country code is E but some device came with -ROW I think this is a bug but related relase solved my issue.

And just to clarify most newer APs came with ROW regulatory domain.

The WiFi 7 APs scrapped regulatory domain altogether and are now Global Use - the country code is set via a number of possible methods:

I got the solution..

Configuration >Tags & Profiles > AP Join

klik AP Join Profile Name  > Name profile and  Country Code ........ Can u set to contry.

@terengg4nu setting country cannot override an AP with the wrong regulatory domain which is hard coded into the hardware!
