check the powere requirement for the AP 3800 models - as Long as Switch has that capabilities then AP can work as expected

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/8-3/b_cisco_aironet_series_2800_3800_access_point_deployment_guide/b_cisco_aironet_series_2800_3800_access_point_deployment_guide_chapter_01010.pdf

Note : AP power on does not mean ap working as expected, AP need correct power requirement to work as expected.

As the others have pointed the exact model of 2960 switch matters.
3802 requires 802.3at (POE+) 30W PoE power source with CDP or LLDP enabled for full operation.
Refer to the datasheet for more info:

Input power requirements

●  802.3at PoE+, Cisco Universal Power over Ethernet (Cisco UPOE ®)
●  802.3at power injector (AIR-PWRINJ6=)
●  50W power supply (AIR-PWR-50=)

Power draw

●  25.8W at the PSE (22.5W at the PD) with all features enabled except for the USB 2.0 port
